The legal recruiting industry is highly competitive these days—and for good reason, the overall legal industry, and the economy in general, are currently in a debilitating recession. This recession has made many law firms, even the most prestigious ones, cut back drastically, which adversely effects the legal recruiting industry. If there are no legal positions to be filled, then no one needs any help filling them. BCG Attorney Search is the United States‘ most prestigious legal recruiting firm, both in terms of the law firms they place into and the high caliber of their work. The firm was founded in 2000 as the first in a series of businesses that would later be called CareerMission. This family of companies contains businesses that all relate to the search for jobs. BCG Attorney’s Search, even from the beginning, was one of the most successful companies in the legal recruiting industry, largely because of a professional and capable staff and copious resources. As a firm they are exceptionally good at what they do; peers in the industry simply cannot keep up. Despite being more selective about their candidate, they have always had a better ratio of placement, averaging one placement per business day between 2002 and 2007. The last two years have been widely recognized as one of the worst periods in the industry’s history. Despite this slump, BCG Attorney Search was not harmed as much by the recession and in fact several of their recruiters increased their rate of placement.
